Dhaka is capital of Bangladesh and is famous for Jute cultivation (world’s largest). Dhaka is divided into Old Dhaka and New Dhaka.
There are lots of places to visit in Dhaka like: Ahsan Manzil, Lalbagh Fort, etc.
I went to Dhaka for an official trip on so one weekend got time to explore Dhaka.
We went to visit Ahsan Manzil or Pink Palace. It lies by bank of river Buriganga and is a museum too. The first thing you notice about the place is the architecture. If you get a guide, he will explain everything about the place.
Then we went to Bangladesh National Museum. It is nice place if there is someone to explain the history behind it.
We also visited Dhakeshwari National Temple which is located in Old Dhaka and a lot of people visit it. Then last we went to Safari Park. It is well known park of Dhaka. You can take tickets and go for Safari and also visit the fish aquarium, bird park, etc.
It has a large collection of wildlife in their natural habitat. For safari, they have a bus and in that you can go for safari. As animals are roaming in open, hence going out of bus is not allowed. It another must visit place.
Also, you have I think Dhaka’s biggest mall: Jamuna Future Park. It’s a really a big mall with 4 entry/exit. If you forget where you came from it is very likely to get lost and come out of other side. It is a mall where you can spend time either shopping or window shopping and the food court has all branded food shops.
